Brading Bell Ringers
In The Community

We have a portable bell tower which is a scale model of church bells. We take this to local shows and events to publicise and demonstrate bell ringing to the general public.

We also take part in many events in Brading such as the Scarecrow Festival and we organise the Brading Christmas Tree Festival for the local community. In late 2021 we rang a special piece to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Brading Football Club. We produced a commemorative certificate which was presented to the club by the bell ringers before their last match of the season in 2022.

In September 2022 we rang muffled bells to celebrate the life of HM Queen Elizabeth II. In May we rang incelebration of the Coronation of King Charles III. June, one of our ringers rang for the funeral of George VI, the Coronation, sliver, gold diamond, platinum jubilees and the funeral of Elizabeth II and the Coronation of King Charles III. Our Tower Captain, Tristan is a Standard Bearer for the Royal British Legion, represented the Isle of Wight carrying the Standard at the Coronation outside Westminster Abbey.

We hold fundraising in the community such as quiz nights, beetle drives and cream tea deliveries Islandwide. We hold a teddy bear parachute jump from the top of the church tower every summer which is popular with families in Brading.

Below is a selection of photos from various events showcasing what we do in the community.
